Bullet called to love project

'Called to Love' is the result of a partnership project between Healthy Respect and the Scottish Catholic Education Service and which was funded by the Scottish Executive through the departments of health and education.

The project aimed to produce a range of resource materials to support the teaching of Relationships and Moral Education (RME) in Catholic secondary schools across Scotland.

The  content of the materials is based upon the guidelines produced by the Catholic Education Commission on the teaching of RME, and is fully supportive of Church teaching. Designed to meet the distinctive needs of those pupils attending Catholic secondary schools,  the materials will be made available to all schools in Scotland.

'Called to Love' provides teaching and support materials with the specific aim of empowering all Catholic secondary schools in the delivery of an appropriate and coherent programme of RME set within a context of love, respect, responsibility and moral reasoning, and where full recognition is given to the sacramental significance of Marriage.

'Called to Love' includes student resource materials, notes for teachers and providers, and opportunities to use ICT through PowerPoint and other audio/visual techniques.

As an integral part of 'Called to Love', training opportunities for teachers and support for parents and other professionals who may be involved in the delivery of the project, have been developed and a number of training days have been made available.

Other agencies who are able to support the values of the Catholic Church were invited to contribute to the development of 'Called to Love', including Scottish Marriage Care and Fertility Care Scotland.
