Bullet called to love news

The initial drafting of the 'Called to Love' resources for pupils and teachers has now been completed, offering a coherent and comprehensive set of support materials from S1 through to S6.

A total of 19 schools from across Scotland, covering 5 of the Catholic Dioceses and 10 Local Authorities, were involved in piloting all or part of the available resources for S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S6 pupils, and feedback from those schools involved was used in developing the final outcomes.

Information leaflets for parents and carers were produced for each year group, from S1 to S6.  These leaflets are available for order through SCES, offering a rationale for 'Called to Love' as well as practical suggestions for parents to assist them in discussing sensitive issues with their chuildren. Each leaflet also has an indication of the themes covered at each level from S1 to S6.

All of the support materials were subject to a formal evaluation process during the summer of 2007. Thereafter, final editing, designing and proofing was carried out so that the final version of the materials could be prepared and made available.

The 'Called to Love' materials have now been made available to schools and can be ordered through SCES.

Training Days have been arranged and will be held from late February 2008 through to June 2008,  providing teachers in every Catholic secondary school with support and guidance on planning for implementation, management, and teaching of the 'Called to Love' resources.
